I’ve had a recent obsession with monochromatic style and I don’t just mean with clothes. I think tone on tone anywhere can be very fresh and clean looking. In your home with a white wall, white shelves, and white accessories or with your style with tan pants and a tan tank. There’s something interesting with pairing the same color together.
I believe the trick is to mix textures and shapes. You don’t necessarily want to pair the same texture and tone, unless you’re going for the whole romper look; but, quite frankly I haven’t been into rompers since college. Not knocking on rompers (I’m sure I’ll come back around some day!), I’m just more interested in something fresh and new.
If I’m wearing oversized clothes like I am here, I usually add some height with heels, but I’m loving a pair of sneakers today. I think the pants being rolled to show my ankles made the sneakers a good pairing. Another way to look more effortless is to roll your pants hem so it doesn’t look too perfect.
